Hit rate is the hardest input to improve and the easiest to overestimate. If you're unsure, use 8% — and note that iterating proven winners runs far above that, which is why abandoning a fatigued winner for a fresh concept is usually the wrong move.

Fatigue is frequency-driven, not calendar-driven
Higher spend against a narrower audience burns creative faster. Scaling a winner accelerates its own decline, which is why lifespan shortens as budget grows.
Questions about this calculation
5–10% for a competent team producing genuinely varied concepts. Use 8% if you're unsure. Be careful about assuming higher — most teams overestimate, and an inflated hit rate makes the required volume look comfortably achievable when it isn't.
