The challenge
Ardent Legal operated 23 offices across seven states. Their location pages were near-identical templates with only the city name changed — which meant Google treated them as duplicate content and offices actively cannibalized each other's rankings. Google Business Profiles were unclaimed or inconsistent, and NAP data conflicted across major directories.
What we did
Fixed the foundation before the content
Claimed and standardized all 23 Google Business Profiles, corrected NAP inconsistencies across 60+ directories, and implemented proper LocalBusiness schema with distinct entities per location.
Made every location page genuinely local
Each page was rebuilt with real local substance: that office's attorneys, local court information, state-specific legal guidance, regional case results, and location-specific FAQs. No shared boilerplate.
Built a practice-area and location matrix
Rather than one page per city, we built practice-area-by-location pages targeting how people actually search — 'employment attorney Cincinnati' rather than 'Cincinnati office'.
Systematized review generation
A post-matter review request flow lifted review volume 6x across locations. Review velocity and recency are strong local ranking factors, and it showed within two months.
The result
Qualified consultation requests grew 296%. Map pack visibility rose 184% across the portfolio, with 19 of 23 locations now appearing in the top three for their primary practice area. Internal cannibalization was eliminated entirely.
“Our offices had been competing against each other in Google for years without anyone realizing it. Fixing that alone changed the numbers before any new content was even published.”
