You don't have the traffic to A/B test
Most startups need 10,000 monthly visitors per tested page for valid results. Below that, testing produces noise you'll mistake for insight.
What's different here
The honest constraint in early-stage conversion work is statistical, and pretending otherwise is how startups end up confidently shipping changes based on nothing. At a few thousand visitors a month you cannot detect a realistic lift in any sensible timeframe — a test that needs fourteen weeks will be invalidated by a positioning change in week six. That doesn't mean conversion work is pointless, it means the method has to change: research and known-good patterns instead of experimentation, and honesty about which one you're doing.
Startups & Scale-ups clients
What cro looks like for startups.
These are the plays that wouldn't appear on a generic cro page — they only make sense in startups & scale-ups.
Research instead of testing
Five moderated user sessions surface the dominant friction more reliably than an underpowered test, and take a week rather than a quarter. At low traffic this is simply the better instrument.
Implement known-good patterns without testing them
Clear value proposition, single obvious action, delivery and pricing certainty, explained form fields. These are well-established enough that testing them at low traffic costs more than adopting them.
Focus on activation over acquisition conversion
Signup rate matters less than whether new users reach value. Activation problems are also visible at far lower volumes, because the effect sizes are much larger.
Instrument now, test later
Get analytics, funnel tracking and session recording in place while traffic is small. When volume arrives you'll have baselines rather than starting from zero.
What holds startups back
You're testing too many channels shallowly
Six channels at $2k each teaches you nothing about any of them. One channel at $12k produces a real answer.
Building features nobody asked for
Every week spent on an unvalidated feature is runway spent. Scope discipline is the highest-ROI decision a startup makes.
No instrumentation, so no learning
Without activation and retention tracking from day one, you can't tell whether a channel is working or whether the product is.
Hiring a marketing team too early
A full in-house team before you know which channel works burns money on salaries while you're still guessing.
The full scope.
Everything in a cro engagement, applied to startups & scale-ups.
Full funnel analysis
Step-by-step drop-off analysis segmented by device, source, and audience, so you can see exactly where and for whom the funnel breaks.
Qualitative research
Session recordings, heatmaps, exit-intent surveys, and moderated user testing to understand the why behind the drop-offs.
Heuristic UX audit
Expert review against conversion principles — clarity, friction, motivation, anxiety, and distraction.
Prioritized hypothesis backlog
Every idea scored by expected impact, confidence, and effort, so the sequence is defensible rather than political.
Test design & build
We design, build, QA, and launch each variant. No developer time required from your team.
Statistical analysis
Proper sample-size calculation, sequential-testing correction, and segment-level analysis. No peeking, no false positives.
Personalization
Once we know which segments behave differently, we serve them different experiences instead of one compromised average.
Insight library
A searchable record of every test — hypothesis, result, and learning — that becomes a genuine competitive asset over time.

Startups & Scale-ups questions, answered straight.
You can, and you'll ship changes based on noise. Dropping to 90% confidence helps marginally; it doesn't fix a sample four times too small. We'd rather tell you that than take a testing retainer that produces confident-looking results we both know aren't real — and we'll say when your traffic has grown enough to start.
Let's talk about your growth constraint.
