Market profile

What's actually different about Scottsdale & the East Valley

Scottsdale has about 244,000 residents, but visitors shape much of its economy. The city's 2024 tourism study found tourism had a $3.7 billion economic impact and supported more than 36,000 local jobs. It counted about 4.9 million domestic overnight travelers, 1.7 million international overnight visitors and 5.1 million day-trippers.

Big events drive the calendar. The WM Phoenix Open, the Barrett-Jackson collector car auction, the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show and San Francisco Giants spring training all draw large crowds. Scottsdale Stadium welcomed nearly 140,000 fans during spring training in 2025, its best attendance since 2019.

Residents tend to be affluent and highly selective. Luxury real estate, cosmetic medicine, wealth management and high-end home services all compete hard for the same clients.

That makes Scottsdale a market where brand, reviews and a polished website matter more than discounts.

Event season drives demand

Restaurants, resorts and services see big spikes around golf, auto and horse events and spring training. Campaigns timed to those weeks catch visitors when they're searching.

Affluent clients judge the website

High-ticket services lose trust with slow pages, stock photos and vague copy. Clear pricing ranges, real results and fast, polished sites win consultations.

Med spas compete street by street

Scottsdale has a dense market for injectables, laser and wellness services. Map rankings, treatment pages and reviews decide who books, within the rules for cosmetic claims.

SEO and web design both matter

Google's data shows about 320 monthly searches for 'SEO Scottsdale' and 260 for 'web design Scottsdale', both low competition. Many businesses need both a better site and better rankings.

In their words

The part clients actually remember.

Not the reports. The uncomfortable conversation that changed the trajectory.

For two years marketing and finance argued about numbers in every board meeting. Digital Squad ended that argument by building one source of truth. The $2.1M we stopped wasting was almost a side effect.

We'd been burned by programmatic SEO before and were very skeptical. The difference was that Digital Squad refused to publish pages that weren't useful. Fewer pages, vastly better results.

I told them on the first call that I wasn't going to become a TikTok personality. They built a system around that constraint instead of fighting it. Eight months later social is our biggest channel and I've been on camera maybe twice.
