76.7 million visitors a year, and a tech economy most of them never see.

Orlando is the most visited destination in the US. It's also a national hub for military simulation, a fast-growing medical city and a headquarters town. Marketing here means talking to tourists, locals and B2B buyers without mixing them up.

What's actually different about Central Florida

Orlando city has about 320,000 people, but the Orlando metro is about 2.8 million and among the fastest-growing in the country.

Tourism is the base. Orlando drew a record 76.7 million visitors in 2025, according to Visit Orlando. Domestic visitors hit a record 70.3 million, while international visitors fell 2.4% to 6.3 million, mostly because fewer Canadians came. Universal's Epic Universe opened in May 2025 and helped add about 13,800 leisure and hospitality jobs in a year.

The less visible economy is simulation and training. 'Team Orlando' groups the military's simulation commands for every branch, the University of Central Florida and private contractors around the Central Florida Research Park. The world's largest simulation and training conference, I/ITSEC, is held here every December. In May 2026, Army leadership said publicly that it isn't stepping away from the Orlando simulation center.

Healthcare is the other big engine. Lake Nona's Medical City includes the UCF College of Medicine, Nemours Children's Hospital and the Orlando VA Medical Center, and AdventHealth and Orlando Health are among the region's largest employers.

Orlando is also winning headquarters. Darden Restaurants is based here, and Travel + Leisure Co. opened its global headquarters downtown in January 2026, moving more than 900 people into the city.

One caution: the Orlando Economic Partnership reported softer consumer spending and a cooling job market in early 2026, after the region led Florida in job growth in 2025. Budgets need to be watched closely.

Tourists and locals search for the same things

'Orlando restaurant', 'Orlando dentist' and 'Orlando roofing' each mix visitors and residents. A tourist books once, months ahead. A local needs you this week and comes back. One generic campaign wastes money showing each group the wrong offer. We split them by intent, timing and location data.

Simulation and defense buyers need different proof

Selling to a program office or a prime contractor in the Research Park is a slow, document-heavy B2B sale. They want contract vehicles, past performance, clearances and technical depth. Consumer-style Orlando marketing doesn't reach them at all.

Seasonality cuts both ways

Visitor peaks, hurricane season and the snowbird months all move demand. Home services spike after storms. Hospitality budgets need room to shift when demand drops, like the 2025 dip in Canadian travel.

Local competition is real, but uneven

'Marketing agency Orlando' gets about 1,300 searches a month and real competition. Variants like 'digital marketing agency Orlando' are rated low competition. Specific local searches for your service and neighborhood are where smaller firms win first.

In their words

The part clients actually remember.

Not the reports. The uncomfortable conversation that changed the trajectory.

We'd been burned by programmatic SEO before and were very skeptical. The difference was that Digital Squad refused to publish pages that weren't useful. Fewer pages, vastly better results.

I told them on the first call that I wasn't going to become a TikTok personality. They built a system around that constraint instead of fighting it. Eight months later social is our biggest channel and I've been on camera maybe twice.
Naomi AchterbergFounder, Brightside
Every other agency said yes to our 80-feature spec and quoted nine months. Digital Squad said most of it was wrong and showed us why. That honesty is the only reason the company still exists.

Reach visitors before they arrive. They plan weeks or months ahead, so search, maps and booking-stage ads matter most, and timing follows travel seasons. Then capture them in-market with mobile-first pages and Google Business Profile, because many decisions happen on a phone near your door.
