Savannah, GAReviewed September 5, 2026

Savannah is a historic tourist town sitting next to one of the country's busiest ports.

Visitors come for the squares and the food. Freight comes through the port and the warehouses around it, and Hyundai's new plant is pulling in suppliers. Marketing here usually serves one of those worlds, and the best agencies understand both.

Market profile

What's actually different about Savannah & Coastal Georgia

Savannah is Georgia's oldest city, known for its historic squares, its restaurants and the Savannah College of Art and Design. Tourism and hospitality fill downtown and the islands, and the city is a regular stop for weddings, conventions and weekend trips.

The port is the other half of the economy. The Port of Savannah is one of the busiest container ports in the country, and the Georgia Ports Authority plans to spend more than $4 billion on container capacity over the next decade. Deepening of the Savannah River, finished in 2022, let larger ships call. Warehouses and distribution centers line the highways west of the city.

Manufacturing is growing fast. Hyundai opened its Metaplant in Bryan County, near Ellabell, in 2025, a project reported at about $7.6 billion. Suppliers have followed it into the region. Gulfstream Aerospace, the business jet maker, is also headquartered in Savannah.

Growth has a few soft spots. Lee & Associates reported industrial vacancy at 14.1% in the third quarter of 2025, with more than 5 million square feet still under construction. For 2025, a Georgia Southern economist projected about 2% job growth, roughly 4,000 jobs.

Warehouses compete for tenants and shippers

With a lot of new industrial space coming online, logistics providers, 3PLs and warehouse owners have to stand out. Clear capacity, location, services and technology details on the website win more inquiries from shippers comparing options.

Hyundai suppliers need local partners

Suppliers moving into Bryan, Effingham and Chatham counties look for contractors, staffing, maintenance, logistics and professional services. Businesses that publish their capabilities and certifications get on the list first.

Visitors plan before they arrive

Many visitors book lodging, tours and dinner before they reach Savannah. Restaurants, inns and tour operators that show up in trip-planning searches, maps and Instagram fill more seats and rooms.

Web design leads local search

Google's data shows about 260 monthly searches for 'web design Savannah' and 110 for 'SEO Savannah', both rated low competition. Searches that include 'GA' help, since other cities share the name.

In their words

The part clients actually remember.

Not the reports. The uncomfortable conversation that changed the trajectory.

I spent the first two months defending our production values. Nobody was attacking them. They were pointing out that four assets a month is a math problem you cannot solve by making each one better. That distinction took me too long to hear.
Anders Lindholm-BeaufortBrand Director, Kalder
We asked them to scope a portal with about forty features. They came back and said seventy percent of our call volume was three things, and we should build those and nothing else. I pushed back hard. They were right, and we shipped in ten weeks instead of a year.
Marguerite Oyelowo-BakkeOperations Director, Verrick Industrial
The uncomfortable part was being told our content was inoffensive to the point of being pointless. They wanted us to say things competitors would disagree with. That felt risky for a consultancy and it turned out to be the only thing that worked.
