A third of the Sarasota area is 65 or older. Your marketing has to work for them and their kids.
Sarasota keeps growing, driven by retirees, families moving south and a big healthcare and service economy. Many buyers here are older, and many decisions involve adult children searching from out of state. Your website has to work for both.

What's actually different about North Port-Bradenton-Sarasota
The North Port-Bradenton-Sarasota metro had about 935,000 people in 2024. It grew 11.6% between 2020 and 2024, compared with about 2.5% for the US. About a third of residents are 65 or older, almost twice the national share.
Healthcare is the largest employer. HUD names Sarasota Memorial Health Care System as the metro's biggest employer, and it has been expanding to keep up with a growing, aging population. Home services, real estate and construction follow the steady flow of new residents, including in fast-growing master-planned communities like Lakewood Ranch.
Tourism is the other pillar. Sarasota County drew more than 3.2 million visitors in 2023, bringing about $4.5 billion into the local economy. The beaches on Siesta Key, Lido Key and Longboat Key, along with the arts scene around the Ringling Museum, keep visitors coming.
The area took a hard hit in 2024. Hurricanes Helene and Milton damaged homes and businesses on the barrier islands, especially Siesta Key. By the fall of 2025, St. Armands Circle and Siesta Village were busy again, though recovery work continues in some coastal areas.
Growth is slowing a little. HUD's April 2025 report showed payrolls up 1.1% over the year, just under the national rate.
Older customers, and the adult children who help them
Many Sarasota buyers are retirees, and many decisions about care, homes and services involve adult children searching from other states. Sites need large, readable text, clear phone numbers and plain answers, plus content that out-of-town family can trust.
Storm recovery changed local demand
After Helene and Milton, demand for roofing, restoration, remodeling and insurance-related services surged, and many coastal businesses had to tell customers they were open again. Up-to-date Google profiles and service pages matter more after a storm.
Seasonal swings
Winter residents and visitors raise demand from about November to April. Restaurants, healthcare practices, home services and retailers all feel it. Campaigns timed to the season, with follow-up after people leave, get more from the same budget.
Web design is the big local search
Google's data shows about 590 monthly searches for 'web design Sarasota' and 170 for 'SEO Sarasota', both rated low competition. Many local businesses are looking to rebuild dated sites, and focused pages can rank well.

The part clients actually remember.
Not the reports. The uncomfortable conversation that changed the trajectory.
We had the capacity and the certifications the whole time. We just never had anywhere for a brand doing research at 11pm to actually find any of it before deciding to call someone else instead.
We had the technical capability the whole time. What we didn't have was a way to show a property owner we understood their actual numbers before they ever got on a call with us.
We were running two different companies out of one website and wondering why neither side converted well. Splitting them was obvious in hindsight and something we'd never have done ourselves.
Sarasota questions, answered straight.
If they're a big part of your customers, yes. Use larger text, strong contrast, simple navigation and a visible phone number. These changes also help everyone else, especially on phones, and they usually lift conversions across the board.
